The births of my 5 children have each had their challenges and joys.  These births, along with the births of my clients, impact on how I think about birth.  I hope you enjoy reading my stories.  To go to each story, simply click on the picture below to the child’s name.

I am 36 yo. My baby is 8 mos. Here is my story in brief.
at 11 weeks my first visit with my midwife: after examining me she says she has never felt anything like this, emergency us is scheduled for 4 days later. There I was told the MW was completely out of order and that everything was normal excepting a small fibroid. I was refused at another birthcenter because of the first MW’s documented WRONG conclusion about my PG. I change providers explaining that I want an all natural birth, including delayed cutting of the cord. my appts go on normally till 39 weeks it was a Friday. OB asks when I want to have the baby. T 4feet 10 inches I am huge and in pain. I say whenever you can induce me! He says Monday (keep in mind this is a week b/4 my due date.) Mon I go in. He says he can’t induce because baby is to high and the cord may prolapse. He says “go to the hospital now you’re having a c-section” He won’t say why and never would give me a reason. after the section, I had NO pain meds for 6 hours. I was in shock from the pain I was in. when I asked the nurse for help she said that I just had a baby and that pain is normal. Even though I requested my OB no one would get him. My baby later almost starved because he would not write a script for a hospital grade preast pump, and my babe had to be admitted to the picu. My baby now has developemental delays and severe Torticollis, possibly caused during the c-section. And that is only the short version.
